We love to travel and have taken ten trips together since 2007. Some little weekends getaways and some fabulous overseas trips. Each one different, amazing and full of fantastic lifelong memories that we will never forget.
With Baby O arriving sometime in the beginning of March we have a feeling our trips will be different and probably not as frequent. So we decided to use this time to take a little break and go away for 3 days. Starting in the middle of December I can't fly and October and November are really busy at work so we had to really go away in September. It left us with only one weekend available. Going back and forth we really were not that excited about going anywhere. I didn't want to be stuck on a plane or a car for a long time and we found that lots of destinations were rather expensive. My very good friend Ellen lived in Shelter Island and during the summer she stays on her boat, she offered her house to use if we wanted to go out there. We have been there before, once in 2008 in the middle of winter and once in 2009 in the fall. Each time was a lot of fun and at the same time very relaxing. We decided to take her up on her offer and go out the Shelter Island for 3 nights and have a little Babymoon. Lulu even came along so it was a full family vacation. We had lots of fun, a few naps, long walks, great weather, lots of good food and even breakfast with Ellen. We went to South Hampton and walked along the beach with no crowds in site. Drove thru a golf course that hosted the US Open. Drove to Orient Point. A perfect 3 day get away. Here are some pictures that we took along the way. We can't wait to go back again with Baby O.
